Much of the U.S has gone through a drought at one point. Because of that, many people are doing their part to conserve water. The little things that are done to conserve water may not feel like much but, when combined, can lead to the results below.
As of 2010 U.S. water use was at the lowest levels in 45 years. The article stated that over 50 percent of the withdrawals were from Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas. California alone accounted for 11 percent of total withdrawals. From 2005 to 2010 public water supply declined even though there was a 4 percent increase in the nation’s population.
Let’s continue to do our part and conserve this precious natural resource. Contrary to popular belief it is not unlimited!
