Last week marked the first confirmed Ebola case in the United States. One of the main concerns is to make sure the virus doesn’t spread. The ambulance was a big concern because it could infect the paramedics and anyone who rode in it after. To completely disinfect the ambulance they treated it with a fogger that releases a heated chemical then they used an ozonator to kill any remaining bacteria. The ambulance was completely sealed and left with the ozonator running for six hours.
There is also a team of doctors who believe ozone treatment could help cure the Ebola patients. The doctors are traveling to West Africa this month to start training hospital staff on how to us the ozone machines to treat patients. If everything goes as expected, they’re even considering using ozone treatment on malaria patients. Ozone is one of the best and most powerful oxidizers to this day.
