Today, September 16, 2014, is World Ozone Day. September 16th is the anniversary of the day the Montreal Protocol was signed. The Montreal Protocol was made to protect the ozone layer by stopping the production of harmful substances that were depleting the ozone layer, such as CFCs. Recently studies have shown that the ozone layer may be repairing itself. One report said that it will take until 2075 for the most damaged part of the ozone layer to return to healthy conditions.
